I work in Hong Kong and have an MCIAT designation. Though being a full member of the Chartered Institute Of Technologists has been fantastic, certain types of jobs and the positions they demand want a degree holder too. Which degree can you recomend and which one is best studied as an 'open university' option since I am overseas. Ideally I would be looking for something along the lines of Project Management.
I think the problem with being a technician/technologist as you get older is that your experience versus expected salary becomes a concern to many design practices who rely on fresh graduates and those salary levels to survive as a company. I am looking to evolve from a technical role to one of Project Management. This could be of both the Inhouse Project from Concept Design Deliverables to full working drawing packages. Alternatively, and most recently for me I have been involved On-Site protecting the Architectural Intent from Contractors reinterpretations and thus providing technical and design advice to contractors and structural engineers. Generally speaking a good degree to back this experience up may (or may not) help.

Hi Steven, Can you be more specific about what sort of jobs you would be looking for post degree? Might help the communitity in making a reccomendation
