What career opportunities do I have without a "full" Architecture degree?

I graduated two years ago with a BSc(Hons) Architecture and thanks to the structure of the university I attended I only got the technical part of my Part II qualification. I have been working as an Architectural Assistant since then but I am becoming increasingly worried that I will not be able to progress as I have no plans to go back and do my Masters degree in Architecture or to continue with the RIBA qualifications as I don't want to be an architect! Ideally I would like to move into Project or Design Management but in the current economic climate my company are not willing to fund or part-fund any further studies and I'm unsure as to what their position is on employing people as Architectural Assistants for their whole career!

Should I stick it out and gain all the experience I can or should I take the leap and fund a Post-Grad degree myself? If I do stick it out what chance do I have of career progression without further studies?

Thanks,

Laura, Edinburgh

Just get some Prince 2 training in your own time, thats all you need for most Project Management jobs other than management experience - which you will get as an architectural assistant if you stay in your firm, politely ask to follow around an architect on site/take minutes for him, etc, and ask for a small job to run.
