Part 2 Architect, Can I advertise under 'Architects' in Yellow pages etc?

I have recently set up a architectural service company with a friend. We are both Part 2's. We want to advertise, but each publication has an 'Architects' section and an 'Architectural Services' section. I'm quite sure that no one will search for the latter. Is there anything stopping me adverting in the Architects section?

Many thanks,

Other than your own professional conscience, how fearful are you of falling foul of the ARB?

I imagine the Yellow Pages has both sections to cater for the fact that the general public won't know the difference, but to have the ARB on your case for misuse of the title would be a Bad Thing.

Have a closer look at the adverts in each section and check what other people have done. Then ask the salesperson - if they want your business, they should help you get your ad in the right section.

To my knowledge you can have the title of Architectural Practitioner or Architectural Designer and they should fall under the Architect area of the Yellow Pages.

I agree with Sarah though you don't want to annoy the ARB especially as they decide when your ready for Part 3.

Guys,

While I wish you well in your business endeavors I feel compelled to point out that although you have some architectural education you are not architects and therefore should not seek to use the title without first qualifying to do so.

That is the sort of attitude that contributes to clients increasing perception that architects' services are not to be highly valued and result in a very poorly paid profession.

From your own personal interest you could be prevented in the future from using the title even if you qualify later.

Hi,

I just curious about why a professional architect should not advertise? To prevent unhealthy competition among architects?

Thank you. (Although nowadays architects may allowed to advertised)

Regards,

At Part 2 your still a Senior Architectural Assistant and Not a Part 2 Architect and as such only allowed to advertise under architectural services.
