I’m working on a block of flats where we’re using structural steel columns to the corner of a communal entrance, with door and window/screen either side of column. The columns support a precast concrete floor and a roof.
This communal space will be heated and the column needs to be clad in metal. I’m wondering how best to thermally insulate, damp proof and fire protect the columns. Any ideas?
