Do I still need Part 1 exemption to get into a Part 2 course now?

I graduated in 2009 with a degree in Interior Design, and have since decided I would like to continue and qualify as an architect. I currently have a job as an Architectural Assistant which I'm treating as a 'Part 1 year out' job. I knew that I would have to take the Part 1 exemption examination, but having spoken to Edinburgh University recently about applying there, I was told that RIBA had changed the requirements and now you did not require Part 1 exemption to get onto a Part 2 course (but of course you would need a degree from a relevant subject or have studied architecture abroad.) The course tutor I spoke to said that although I would graduate with Part 2, I would still need to do Part 1 eventually to qualify as an architect. This is tempting for me because it means I can do my Part 2 and work afterwards, whilst saving up to be able to take the Part 1 examination. I have been looking on other university websites to see if they would accept me onto their Part 2 course, but haven't found anywhere that says that the Part 1 rule has now changed. So is it true that I could now get onto a Part 2 (RIBA validated) course without having Part 1 yet? If so, why aren't universities advertising this? Surely this is useful news for international students?

Spoke to some other universities today, and to answer my own question, yes I can get onto a Part 2 course now with the degree I have!

Are these information written by RIBA anywhere? I was given an unconditional offer from a Part II course in England after attending and interview, but I still don’t have part 1 exemption – I’ve got an EU architectural degree, thus not recognized by RIBA – is it truly possible that they offered me the place without conditions then?
